You can access and download this guidance in both Irish and English from the Department of Education and Skills website below under the heading ‘Talking to children and young people about Covid-19’.

Please ensure that all staff, parents, and other interested parties receive this update.
We would also like to direct your attention to a child-friendly interview that Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn did with RTÉ’s new2day programme last week, that may also be a useful resource when talking about Covid-19 with children and students.

Congratulations to both 1st and 2nd year basketball teams who still remain unbeaten this year! Our first years took on Athlone on Monday and beat them convincingly on a score line of 74-23. All 11 players were superb and contributed brilliantly towards securing a home semi final tomorrow again De La Salle Waterford. Our 3 top scores for the game were Cillian O Connell 18, Cormac Howsen 11, & David Apopei 9
Our second years took on Ardscoil Rathangan today in the regional quarter final and all 23 players took part in a very competitive game! The game started off very slow with us trailing at half time but David Harrington was the difference and led the cbs to a great team win in a score line of 41-22. This now sets our 2nd years up for a home semi final later this week against a very strong Ballymahon side who won the regional A last year. Top scores David Harrington 17 points & Paddy Fitzpatrick 8

Dear Principal,
I wish to advise that Bus Éireann are currently accepting applications for transport, under the School Transport Scheme, for the 2020/2021 school year.
I have attached a notice (please read below) which includes some of the most important FAQ's and would ask, if possible, that you circulate this notice to all potential 1st year students in your school. It is imperative that Bus Éireann receive as many applications as possible early to ensure we can examine each route and give the best possible service to pupils, under the scheme.
Applications are made online by the parents at www.buseireann.ie/schooltransport.
Please advise parents that if they have any difficulty in applying, they can contact the School Transport Office, Athlone directly by email to schools.athlone@buseireann.ie and/or phone on 09064-73277 where staff will endeavour to assist in any way possible.
Regards
