Congrats to the students who competed in the 3 County League of Laois, Carlow and Kildare which took place in the Curragh on Monday.
Well done to (1st Yrs) Aaron Branagan, Jack Murrell and Cormac Howson just one person short for a team who ran brilliantly.
Pride of place goes to Billy Ramsbottom who finished 12th in a very competitive Intermediate race.
And a big shout out to Matthew Delaney on a fine debut display, finishing 9th in the Senior Category.
Athletics training takes place Thurs after school!

Well done to our 1st year hurling team who participated in a blitz in the Offaly Centre of Excellence today. This was the first time the team played 15-a-side.
The CBS lost their first game to a strong Birr Community School team and narrowly lost their second game to Mountrath Community School by a point. There were good performances along the way and the team finished strong with a win against Colaiste Mhuire Mullingar.
Good effort from all involved.

74 TY students travelled to the National Sports campus in Blanchardstown to hear inspirational speakers on the subject of well being, resilience, goal setting and achievement. Mark Pollack told us we can be either spectators in our own lives or participants . This from a blind man in a wheel chair who has walked the Antarctic and climbed to base camp Mount Everest prior to his fall out of a window which left him paralysed. He now campaigns for the Exoskeleton to help all with spinal injuries.
Tom Parsons of Mayo football fame spoke about resilience and the 9 step plan to achieve contentment.
There were numerous stands offering all sorts of opportunities for students now and in the future...
Zeminar gave us much food for thought .
