Our senior rugby team travelled to Athy Rugby grounds today to take part in the Senior Development blitz. With a very large panel in attendance of 37, it was decided that Portlaoise would field two teams in the blitz. Under the guidance of their coaching team of Mr.Ryan, Mr.Dooley and Mr.Coonan the Portlaoise boys got off to a great start beating Mountrath C.S and Confey College on scorelines of 7-0 and 7-5. The winning continued in our third and fourth games with wins against Maynooth PP and a second win against Confey College for our opposite CBS team. We played our 5th and final game against Colaiste Lorcain. We had a very experimental side together for this game with many boys that hadn't played before starting. Unfortunately Coláiste Lorcáin proved too strong running out winners 15-7. All in all we are extremely proud of all our lads with some fantastic performances from experienced and novice players. Top performers on the day: Ali Rasool Adrian Brzozowski
