Each year we offer two scholarships entitled 'From Each Their Best", which is our school motto, to our incoming students. These awards recognise students who excel in both sport and academics and who have chosen our school to continue both their academic and sporting pathways. The scholarship consists of a €250 SHAWS voucher for a full school uniform and an iPad from WRIGGLE. In previous years we also offered a set of textbooks, but they will be provided to all students this year free of charge.
The exam will be held once only, on Thursday 23rd May from 4.30 to 6.30pm. Applications can be downloaded from this App notification, printed and submitted to the school office by no later than 4pm on Monday 20th at 4pm.
The exam consists of approximately an hour in English and an hour of Maths. Students should bring their own pens, pencils, erasers, etc. Paper will be provided. There will be a short break between the 2 exams. All should arrive by 4.20 pm, in advance of the 4.30pm start.
In the coming month we hope to also offer the Portlaoise Rugby Club Scholarship and the Panthers Basketball Scholarship which are specific to those who excel in those two sports. All notifications and updates will be on this App.
We wish all applicants luck and only expect them to do their own best. Thank you.

FAO 6th Year Parents - Orals Information

Dear Parent/Guardian,
As you aware, Leaving Cert oral examinations are taking place from Saturday March 23rd to Thursday March 28 th.
Your son has been allocated a time slot in each of the languages that he is registered to sit an exam in. The students have been made aware of their slots, at an assembly, on the board in the GPA in school and on their Microsoft Teams group.
Please remind your son that he must know his time, be at his centre at least 20 minutes before he is due to commence his oral and be in full uniform. It is imperative that your son adheres strictly to his timeslot and is punctual. For candidates sitting an Irish oral, you must bring your list with your ten Sraid Pictuir on it, and present this to the examiner at the beginning of the oral examination. You cannot sit the exam without this. All that remains then, is to wish your son the very best in his exams.
Thank you
