Congratulations to Thomás Dunne, Nebojsa Kukic, Cian Mac Gearailt, Nathan Harrison and Séan Lewis on collecting their Gold award at the JPll awards on Wednesday night.
The ceremony took place in St. Clare’s church in Graigcullen with 192 young people receiving various categories of the award. The night was a celebration of the young people’s hard work and effort in their parish and school community.
The Award is a faith achievement award for young people between the age of 16 and 18. It is non-competitive, inclusive, flexible and voluntary.
The Award enables participants to take an active part in the life of their Church – in the life of their community and society.
Awards are earned by taking part in parish and social activities – 1 hour per week over 8, 14 or 20 weeks. There are 3 Award levels – Gold, Silver & Bronze.
The boys are now going to go on to work for the Papal cross award.
Thomás, Nebojsa, Cian, Nathan and Séan took part in a range of activities from training to be Eucharist ministers, playing music in local nursing homes, doing the offertory collection at mass, volunteers on the parish pilgrimage to Lourdes and helping out with the SVP food appeal in order to build up their hours to achieve the award.
If any student wishes to get get involved in the JPll awards please collect a form from Ms C. Brennan or return the forms given to you by Caitriona Kelly the JPll co-ordinator that spike to TY’s.
Again well done boys!!

Our u17 soccer team played Athy CS today!
An early goal from Daniel Adeoye put Portlaoise in front and they began to dominate the first half. Portlaoise then had a penalty saved which allowed Athy back into the game and they equalised soon after.
The second half was more even with chances for both sides. Kevin Ogedegbe's goal from a well worked corner kick put Portlaoise back in front who then tried to see out the remainder of the game. An excellent save from Michael O'Connell at the very end ensured Portlaoise kept all 3 points.
Man of the match went to Eamonn Delaney! Congratulations lads!
