Our TY’s were very lucky today to get a chance to meet up and coming actor Emmet Byrne! Emmet has starred in a number of Irish dramas including Red Rock, Striking Out and has had countless appearances on theatre stages across the country! The boys got the opportunity to listen to Emmets career journey on how studying in NUIG opened the door to his acting career.
Although Emmet is a past pupil of Heywood Community School he was very proud to mention his close family ties with our school-his brother and a number of cousins are current students.

Homework Club

Ms Egan, who runs the Homework Club, is asking students to come to her in school if they are interested in joining. This service is for 1st and 2nd years, usually who would benefit from help with their homework. It is free and volunteer teachers run it from Monday - Thursday from 4.15-5.15 on those evenings.Either ring the office and leave your son's name or tell him to find Ms Egan in the coming days about joining.

On Thursday November 15th, school will close for students while teachers attend our school's Wellbeing Day in the school. All schools around the country will close for this day at some point of the school year.
