This was a very successful evening. Pauline Kelly spoke to a good turn out of parents, mostly parents of 2nd and 3rd years, about how their sons will be assessed in the coming years in their JC subjects. Terms like 'Classroom Based Assessments' and 'Profiles of Achievement' were explained and at the end, a leaflet, available to all parents who attend the upcoming 2nd and 3rd year Parent Teacher Meetings, was available to take home. For anyone who missed the evening, you are advised to check out curriculumonline.ie and jct.ie. These are the only two websites which have all the relevant information. The feedback from parents last night was that the new ways made sense and the acknowledgement of other areas of learning (their extra-curricular interests) was long overdue. Pauline also gave an excellent presentation, very easy to both listen to and follow.

Another superb win for the U16 rugby boys today to make it 2 for 2 in the Leinster league as they faced Carnew in Portlaoise RFC grounds. The boys showed spirit and pure talent in what proved to be an excellent display of rugby. Keep up the great work! Final score CBS 53-7 Carnew.

A reminder from Ms.Quillnan that students must have their poems learned in full and have a printed copy to hand.Hair and uniform should be neat and tidy on the day.
