Fraudulent sale of tickets for CBS iPad!!

I have been made aware of several girls going from both door to door and using Laois Shopping Centre ‘Win an iPad for your school’ tickets in aid of St Marys CBS Portlaoise. They were challenged by someone and ran off to a car and were then driven away by a woman. We have nothing to do with this stunt and ask anyone approached with requests for tickets in aid of our school to refuse and maybe even ask questions. St Marys CBS is totally unaware of the identity of these girls and certainly we are not the recipients of any monies collected. Thank you. Maura Murphy

A great morning was had by both students and teachers as the annual teachers vs students match took place! The students were victorious after Cathal Hewitt sealed the deal on penalties! Well done to all involved!
Our New Class Captains

This year is the first year we have had Class Captains for all of our Junior Classes. Yesterday, 17 students received their red badges and their instructions of their responsibilities and duties for the year ahead. None of these are difficult, nor very time consuming, but they do transfer a degree of leadership and responsibility to these students who have been elected by their classmates and considered capable of carrying them out. We wish them well in the year ahead and hope they will lead by their good example. Well done.

Homework club

Homework club will resume after the midterm on Monday the 5th of November for any 1st or 2nd year student. Students must have written permission in their school journal to attend. Homework club runs from 4:15-5:15.
