The Jnr Rugby Team were out for their first match in almost two years Vs Creagh college. It was always going to be a learning process as the Snr members of today’s squad were only first years for the last outing. And this was exactly the way it panned out. Creagh, who already had one game under their belt, got off to the more composed start and won the first try. Even though the Carnew lads made some great runs they were just not able to stamp their authority on the game. Playing with the wind Creagh were able to build up a good lead in the first half with Coláiste Bhríde trailing. In the second half the lads became more settled, less impatient and more composed. As they did they were able to show their ability from 1 to 15 and with this growing confidence came their first try. As the game progressed another try also came and the errors of the first half began to be ironed out. The game ended with Creagh with winning 22-17 but a lot was learned and key areas identified for the next training session before the Cup and Shield qualifying blitz the Tuesday after midterm.
