Our u19 team which is made up of only 4th year students struggled to get going against a much taller and physical team. However they also maintained their winning streak pulling away to win 21-6. Last up where our u19 lads team. Who completed a great day by also winning on a score line of 20-6 making it four wins for Carnew. Our class is still to decide on a social issue for our project this year but we have created a shortlist of possible topics. This workshop helped us to focus on this shortlist and we will start voting next class to finalise our project title. Our junior girls travelled to Enniscorthy last week for their opening Leinster championship game against Coláiste Bríde. In a blistering opening quarter, the girls put on a fabulous display of football, racking up a score of 3-7 to 1-1. The Enniscorthy girls battled bravely in the second quarter, clawing their way back into the match and as the half time whistle blew, the score was 3-11 to 3-3. However, the visiting team never looked like they could be beaten and with an unrelenting work rate particularly from the forwards, the girls finished out the game strongly. There were some fantastic individual performances all over the park but what was particularly pleasing was how the girls worked together as a team. This was commendable not least because of the long break endured due to Covid and that this is the first time that many of these girls have played together. We now look forward to our remaining two group games against Presentation College, Wexford and Gorey Community School. Final score Coláiste Bríde, Enniscorthy 4-6 Coláiste Bhríde, Carnew 4-17

Gorey however always kept their noses in front and won a very close game on a score line of Gorey 39 Carnew 34 Our U16 also made a slow start with it being 18 months on from their last game. Gorey made a fast start scoring a 3 pointer start from the tip off. The 1st and 2nd quarters where close with the score very much level. However in final quarter we started to make our shots and pulled away to win on score line of Gorey 14 Carnew 28.
