Three Transition Year students, Sam Sunny, Marc Bracken and David O’Brien (reserve), represented our school at senior level at Carlow I.T., debating the motion “that all housing should be affordable for everyone”. A lively debate ensued among 32 schools and we successfully proposed the motion in our group of eight. Though not proceeding to the final, we were delighted with the judges’ positive and encouraging remarks and the team is now ready to compete at this level again. Thank you to Ms.Hyland for her hard work in preparing the lads for the task.

Unfortunately the boys did not place in the top 3 but they represented their school very well...especially considering they are in the middle of pre-mock exams. Thank you to their teacher Mr Allen for accompanying them.
