Mr Halligan and Ms Martyn have travelled to Killary adventure centre in County Mayo with our transition year students on their annual end of year tour.

The annual 'Andy Boland' table tennis tournament has had 200 competitors whittled down to the final two. David Olechnowitz from 3rd year faces Jaime Gonzalez of 5th year which promises to be a very exciting final. It will take place tomorrow the 12th of May. Last teacher standing was Mr.Kevin Meany who reached the quarter finals. 3rd place goes to Mark Escabarte from 3rd year. 4th place went to David Lewis from 6th year. Congratulations to all involved and best of luck to both David and Jaime tomorrow.
A big thanks to Mrs McKenna and Miss Murphy for organising such a brilliant tournament.

Sports Day

Well done to all the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students who took part in last Friday's Sports Day. It was a great sporting occasion for the college with students participating in over 20 different sports from Football to dodgeball and from darts to athletics. An excellent day organised by PE Teacher Mr Byrnes. Well done to Mr Drumm who easily won the teachers race showing Mr O Carroll and the rest a clean pair of heels and to the 3rd year students who defeated the teachers in the Tug O War.

Marian college water polo team narrowly missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the O'Brien tournament today, despite some excellent saves by keeper Ken Hession and goals from Jonathan Farrelly in what turned out to be his and PJ Comerford's last game for Marian. We wish them well in the future.
1st Year Tour to the West Coast and the Aran Islands.

Over 50 1st years have joined their teachers on the Annual Trip to the Aran Islands. The tour takes in Bunratty Castle, the isolated village of Doolin in County Clare, the magnificent Cliffs of Moher and the Burren before the students spend 2 Days on Inis Mean the largest of the islands where they will experience the traditional islanders way of life taking in the beautiful and ancient sights. This tour is an important part of 1st year in Marian College and has been in operation for over 20 years. A big thanks to Miss Durkan for organising the trip.
