Transition years were treated to a day to Twitter HQ in Dublin's city centre today. Twitter currently employ 290 employees in Dublin and our transition year students sat down with managing director Scott Thwaites to discuss careers in I.T, marketing and advertising. After an initial introduction and description of his role in Twitter, Scott then opened up the floor to questions from the students. The students were full of questions in relation to getting into I.T and advertising as a career and what the career entailed. Scott highlighted to the class that Dublin is full of opportunities in this area with all the major companies been based within 20 minutes of our school. Following the Q&A, there was a tour of the offices and prizes were handed out.

Congratulations to the 1st year basketball team who advanced to the league semi finals with a resounding win over St Colmcilles from Knocklyon. The team is playing very well at the moment and took control of this game in the 2nd quarter with strong defence that led to a lot of fastbreak opportunities which created easy scores for the team. After building a large lead at halftime the team never let up in the 2nd half and ran out comfortable winners. It was an excellent team display with 8 different players getting on the scoresheet. The team will now play their semi final after the Easter break.
